Comedy powerhouse Susan Wokoma is writing the screenplay for Channel 4. Chaotic Energy is a contemporary romcom that explores modern dating, self-image, and vulnerability in the age of social media.
Artemis ‘Temz’ Owusu is body-confident, career-flying and thriving as a plantfluencer — yet her romantic relationships never quite take root. When sexy California tech entrepreneur Ruben slides into her DMs for plant advice, their long-distance flirtation quickly grows into something serious. But in a rare wobble of self-doubt, Temz tells one small online lie — and suddenly finds herself tangled in a web of escalating deception. As her job whisks her to Ruben’s stomping ground in Oakland, Temz faces a choice: come clean, or double down and embrace the full chaotic energy of love about to explode.

Frolic Films will be joining the second edition of the sought after BFI French New Waves event, a tailored selection of meetings with the aim of fostering co-production between the UK and France. The event will take place at London's Institut Français on 7 October, 2023.
